Check out this great interview with E! Canada with Dan, Eugene, Annie, and Catherine, from earlier today. If you’re in Canada be sure to tune in tonight on Schitt’s Creek season 4 premiere!
Believe it or not, we’re at the end of another year. Given the way 2017 has gone at times, the prospect of change and starting anew with another year is a nice and welcome prospect. However, the end of year is also the perfect time for reflection and for all those “Best of Lists” to start going around. With so many TV series available these days it’s hard to keep up and watch it all. Even if you’re DVRing, you probably still find yourself perpetually behind and trying to play catch up. The good thing is though, with so many series available there’s bound to be a show for everyone.
All those shows also mean that there’s so many different TV characters out there to fall in love with, idolize, want to be friends with or even despise. Just like series, all characters are not created equal and some just make television a better place to be. There are certain characters that make me look forward to spending quality time with them each week, and characters I use to help me relax after a long day. They may not be completely perfect or even the most strongly written at times, but they are the characters that bring me the most joy and make TV enjoyable to watch. So yes, they may have flaws, but they also bring me back week after week.
Please keep in mind, these characters are listed in no particular order. So without further adieu here are my Most Enjoyable Characters of 2017.
Alexis Rose – Schitt’s Creek
“Ew, David!” If you’re a Schitt’s Creek fan then those are words of comfort and joy. While Schitt’s is led by comedy legends Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, it’s the Rose children that have become some of my favorite characters on TV. Each season we’ve seen Annie Murphy’s Alexis grow and become a more well-rounded individual thanks to her time in Schitt’s Creek, but Season 3 was especially strong for the youngest Rose. She went back to high school and Murphy was given some of her best material to date. She really shone as Alexis struggled to fit in and find her place. Murphy has a knack for always being able to bring out and show off Alexis’ heart, even when she’s being the most ridiculous. Also, the sibling relationship and love that exists between Alexis and David is one of the best and funniest relationships on television.
TV News Roundup: ‘Schitt’s Creek’ Sets Season 4 Premiere Date
Pop has announced Season 4 of “Schitt’s Creek” will premiere Jan. 24 at 8 p.m., followed by the series premiere of “Let’s Get Physical” at 8:30 p.m. Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Levy, and Annie Murphy are returning as the Rose family in the fourth season of “Schitt’s Creek,” while series co-creators Eugene and Daniel Levy continue to executive produce. Jane Seymour (“Wedding Crashers”), Matt Jones (“Breaking Bad”), Chris Diamantopoulos (“Episodes”), and AnnaLynne McCord (“90210”) star in “Let’s Get Physical,” a modern-day comedy capturing the zeitgeist of 1980s aerobics. The series revolves around middle-aged slacker Joe Force (Jones), who makes a reluctant comeback in the fitness industry after his dad, the “Godfather of Aerobics,” unexpectedly passes away and wills Joe the broke-down family gym with eccentric provisions attached to get his actual fortune and estate.
I’ve also added a new still from Schitt’s Creek and a few missing magazine scans of Annie. Enjoy.

With so much quality TV jostling for our attention, a perfectly worthwhile show can easily slip into obscurity nowadays. But for viewers who can bear to tear themselves away from Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Narcos a world of under-appreciated television awaits. We’ve trawled the nether reaches of Netflix, Amazon Prime etc to bring you the definitive countdown of below-the-radar telly worth a second glance.
Worth its place on our shortlist on the basis of its wickedly punning name alone. This Canadian family comedy was created by Eugene Levy (American Pie) and his son Daniel. Levy senior stars as a video store magnate thrown into poverty when an accountant absconds with his fortune. The family is reduced to living in the eponymous Schitt’s Creek, a one horse town which, back in their megabucks days, they bought as a joke.
Netflix is about to get Stranger.
Just ahead of Halloween, the highly-anticipated Stranger Things 2 is coming to the streaming service on Oct. 27. But before that, there are plenty of other titles creeping in: For example, David Fincher’s new Netflix series Mindhunter arrives this month.
A few other highlights include comedies Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Miss Congeniality, I Love You, Man and Patton Oswalt’s stand-up special. (Here’s the list of September shows.)

According to Dan’s twitter season 4 of Schitt’s Creek has wrapped. No word on when the new season will premiere but I can’t wait. In the meantime you can rewatch the previous seasons on Netflix like I’m doing. haha.
Annie and Dustin (who plays Ted on Schitt’s Creek) both made the 2017 list for Canada’s Most Beautiful People. She looks lovely in the photograph and it’s no surprise she made the list. Tho I am a bit surprised Dan didn’t because he’s beautiful and a genius and seems like the most fun. Annie did a small interview with E! and you can watch that below.
Here’s the small excerpt written about her:
HOMETOWN Ottawa AGE 30 TOP MARKS On the latest season of Schitt’s Creek, her character, Alexis, earned her high school diploma. Annie’s already back on set shooting the fourth season with Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara STAR STRUCK “I met Chris Hadfield at Cirque du Soleil this past summer!” 2017 HIGHLIGHT “A trip that I would never recommend to anybody else: Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki and Moscow in seven days” BEST THING ABOUT HER DAY JOB… “Being able to work with a bunch of incredible goofbrains every day is undoubtedly the highlight of my job. The downside is the handsome men and the pretty wardrobe”
